Your options depend on how much time you have — not on what sounds interesting. This hub classifies your layover by available hours, airside/landside access, baggage state, and Schengen route. It routes you to the right specialist decision page.
Answer these questions in order. Each answer narrows your options.
This is a structural classification — not a list of "things to do." Click any bracket for the detailed decision page.
You do not have time to do anything except reach your departure gate. Use the Connection Checker to verify your connection is feasible.
2–4 HOURSTime for a meal, some shopping, or a lounge visit. You can explore your departure terminal area. Stay airside.
4–6 HOURSEnough time for a proper rest. Consider MY CLOUD (airside, eligible transit passengers), a NapCab, or a lounge with shower facilities.
6–8 HOURSThis is the decision point. You can book an airport hotel day room, or — if airside/landside and baggage permit — take the S-Bahn into Frankfurt for 2–3 hours.
8–12 HOURSA city trip is realistic. S-Bahn to the centre takes 15 minutes. You have 4–6 hours in Frankfurt. An airport hotel gives you a base.
12+ HOURSYou need a proper night's sleep. Choose an airport hotel classified by terminal access. Or stay in Frankfurt city and take the S-Bahn back in the morning.
